The world is on high alert due to concerns of coronavirus.

CoronaVirus (COVID-19)-Many tech companies stepped back and canceled or postponed the major tech events that were going to be held. And for the prevention of coronavirus COVID-19, tech event has canceled.

Due to fear that coronavirus will evolve into a global pandemic, the list of the major events that had been canceled grows day by day. Coronavirus, dubbed COVID-19 had led to significant travel restrictions for impacted regions.

Mobile World Congress Cancelled

•The first major cancellation was Mobile World Congress, which was expected to draw 100,000 people to Barcelona.

IDC canceled its Directions conference

IDC canceled its Directions conference that had been planned for March 4 in San Jose. IDC said, “We have made this choice out of an abundance of caution and believe it is the correct decision given the evolving public health concerns in the Bay Area.”  “The potential risk to the well-being of Directions attendees and our staff is something IDC takes seriously.”

Facebook (ticker: FB) canceled

Facebook (ticker: FB) canceled this year’s edition of its F8 developers’ conference, which has been scheduled for May 5-6 in San Jose, California.

•Facebook had previously withdrawn a marketing conference scheduled for Moscone from March 9-12.

Workday (WDAY) has canceled a planned sales meeting

Workday (WDAY) has canceled a planned sales meeting scheduled for Orlando from March 2-4.

A hacker and security conference rescheduled

A hacker and security conference, Black Hat Asia,  planned for March 31 to April 3 in Singapore was September 29 to October 2.

Cisco Live Melbourne has been canceled

•Cisco Live Melbourne has been canceled which was scheduled for March 31 to April 3 in Singapore was postponed until September 29 to October 2.

The Game Developers Conference (GDC) canceled

The Game Developers Conference, or GDC, canceled its show that was going to be held on March 16-20 at Moscone in San Francisco. Organizers said, “Having spent the past year preparing for the show with our advisory boards, speakers, exhibitors, and event partners, we’re genuinely upset and disappointed not to be able to host you at this time.”

Intel (INTC) canceled Intel Labs Day

Intel (INTC) canceled Intel Labs Day that had been scheduled for March 12 in San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts, citing the “ongoing and evolving coronavirus situation.” The event was supposed to show off emerging computing technologies.

Geneva International Motor Show canceled its event

•It’s not just tech. On February 28, the Geneva International Motor Show canceled its event scheduled for March 5 to March 15. The decision stems from Switzerland’s decision to ban all events with more than 1,000 people.

Zendesk (ZEN) canceled its Zendesk Relate conference

Zendesk (ZEN) canceled its Zendesk Relate conference that had been scheduled for March 3-5 in Miami.

Domo (DOMO) a business intelligence software company, canceled Domopalooza,

Domo (DOMO) a business intelligence software company, canceled Domopalooza, a conference that had been scheduled for March 17-20 in Salt Lake City.

The conference focused on digitalization in public transport IT Trans has been canceled.

•A conference focused on digitalization in public transport IT Trans has been canceled. The event, which was expected to have 7,000 attendees, had been scheduled for Karlsruhe, Germany, March 3-5.

Shopify (SHOP) has canceled Shopify Unite,

Shopify (SHOP) has canceled Shopify Unite, a partner and developer conference that had been scheduled for May 6-8 in Toronto.

Nvidia has canceled GTC, GPU Technology Conference,

•Nvidia has canceled GTC, its GPU Technology Conference, which had been scheduled for March 22-26 at the San Jose Convention Center. The company said it would shift to an online-only event.

Salesloft has canceled Rev2020,

Salesloft, a company that sells “sales engagement” software, has canceled Rev2020, the company’s annual customer conference, which had been scheduled for March 9-11 in San Francisco. The event was expected to attract about 2,000 people.

Adobe Summit, the annual Adobe user event, scheduled

Adobe Summit, the annual Adobe user event, scheduled for March 29 to April 2 in Las Vegas, has been canceled and instead will be conducted virtually. Scheduled speakers had included quarterback Tom Brady, comedian Chelsea Handler, and actress and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow.

Google Cloud Next ‘20 scheduled

Google Cloud Next ‘20, which had been scheduled for April 6-8 at Moscone in SF, has become a digital-only event on the same days which attracted about 30,000 people.

Google I/O canceled

Google I/O, planned for May 12-14 in Mountain View, California, has been canceled. “Over the coming weeks, we will explore other ways to evolve Google I/O to best connect with our developer community,” Google said.

Qualtrics has canceled X4,

Qualtrics has canceled X4, a user conference that had been scheduled for March 10-12 in Salt Lake City. The event had been expected to draw 16,000 people.

Okta has shifted Oktane 2020, scheduled

Okta has shifted Oktane 2020, which had been scheduled for March 30 to April 2 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, to a virtual event.

Oracle has canceled the Oracle Modern Business Experience 2020

Oracle has canceled the Oracle Modern Business Experience 2020 (Oracle MBX) conference, which had been scheduled for March 23-26, in Chicago.
